Are you an EdTech founder building for the learners that the world often leaves behind? Cohort 4 of the Mastercard Foundation EdTech Fellowship is now officially open for applications.
This fellowship is not just an accelerator; it is a mission-driven ecosystem designed to scale inclusive innovation. We are looking for the next generation of African entrepreneurs who are leveraging technology to bridge the gap for marginalized communities and data-starved education systems.
THE FOCUS: INCLUSIVE INNOVATION
For Cohort 4, we are prioritizing startups that demonstrate measurable impact in the following critical areas:

Special Needs Education: Innovative tools for learners living with disabilities.

Displaced Populations: EdTech solutions tailored for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and refugees.

Rural & Underserved Communities: Offline-first or low-bandwidth tools for remote areas.

Gender Equity: Solutions specifically designed to keep young girls and women in the learning cycle.

Systemic Data: Platforms that build robust education data systems to inform better policy and institutional decisions.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Geography: Startups must be headquartered or significantly operating within the African continent.

Stage: Growth-stage or post-pilot startups with a functional product and early evidence of impact.

Impact Alignment: A clear, demonstrable focus on one or more of the “Inclusive Innovation” categories listed above.

Scalability: A product roadmap that shows the potential to reach thousands (or millions) of underserved learners.
