Fintech platform Kredete has acquired Gravv, an agentic stablecoin infrastructure platform that integrates commercial banks, blockchain networks, and local payout rails to enable real-time cross-border settlements.
The acquisition brings Gravv’s core payment routing and liquidity architecture in-house, giving Kredete direct operational control over its multi-currency accounts, foreign exchange, liquidity management, and real-time reconciliation engines. Following the integration, Kredete has opened the Gravv infrastructure layer to third-party developers, fintechs, enterprise platforms, and banking institutions operating across emerging markets.
Unifying Stablecoins and Local Payment Rails
Founded in 2022 by Adeola Adedewe, Kredete provides credit-building and cross-border financial services tailored for emerging markets and diaspora corridors. Operating across more than 60 countries, the platform serves over 6.5 million users and processes over $18 billion in annual payment volume.
Gravv operates as a unified middleware layer that simplifies global fund movement via stablecoins. The platform allows institutions to manage multi-currency settlements, foreign exchange, card issuance, and liquidity through a single API integration. Prior to the acquisition, Gravv processed over $3 billion in transaction volume for more than 1,000 businesses across 100 countries, supported by seven global banking partners.
Adeola Adedewe, founder and CEO of Kredete, stated that while infrastructure forms the competitive moat, intelligence acts as the operating layer. He noted that integrating Gravv provides Kredete with native stablecoin rails beneath its consumer and enterprise products, creating autonomous middleware for global money movement.
Solving the Payment Coordination Problem
Cross-border money movement across emerging markets remains fragmented due to friction between traditional correspondent banking, local instant payment schemes, regulatory compliance checks, and blockchain networks.
Hakeem Oriola, Chief Technology Officer at Kredete, emphasized that global payments are fundamentally a coordination problem across disconnected systems. He explained that Gravv consolidates these disparate rails into a single infrastructure layer, using automated intelligence to route, settle, and reconcile cross-border transactions in real time.
Additionally, the acquisition positions Kredete to support autonomous transaction flows. Ebuka Arinze, Chief Product Officer at Kredete, highlighted that as artificial intelligence agents increasingly handle commercial transactions, Kredete is building the underlying financial architecture required for AI-driven agentic commerce.
Expanding Global Footprint and Institutional Backing
The acquisition follows rapid commercial expansion for Kredete. Five months ago, the company expanded its stablecoin-backed credit card program from 50 African markets into the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region, launching across the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Oman.
To date, Kredete has raised $24.75 million in institutional capital. Its funding history includes a $22 million Series A round led by AfricInvest through its Cathay AfricInvest Innovation Fund (CAIF) and Financial Inclusion Vehicle (FIVE), alongside Partech and Polymorphic Capital.
By making Gravv’s underlying rails accessible to third-party developers and institutions, Kredete aims to accelerate stablecoin adoption and lower settlement costs for businesses operating across emerging economies.
