Behind every girl who discovers her potential in technology is a team committed to making that opportunity possible. Meet the people working to ensure that geography, background or financial circumstances do not determine who gets to participate in the digital future.
The future of technology is being shaped every day. Artificial Intelligence is changing how people learn, work, communicate, solve problems and do business. Yet, while some young people have access to computers, digital tools, mentors and opportunities to explore these technologies, many others are still waiting for their first opportunity.
For a girl in an underserved community, a government secondary school or a low-income household, learning about Artificial Intelligence may still seem like a distant possibility.
At HERIntelligence, they believe it should not be.
The organisation believes that a girl’s location should not determine her access to knowledge and that every girl deserves the opportunity to understand technology, explore her interests and develop the skills needed to participate in the digital economy.
This belief is at the heart of its work.
The People Behind the Mission
HERIntelligence is driven by a team of passionate individuals who believe that access to technology education should extend beyond major cities, private schools and privileged communities.
Their work goes beyond organising training sessions and hosting events. It involves reaching schools, engaging communities, creating learning opportunities and helping girls develop the confidence to see themselves as future technology creators.
The team understands that introducing girls to technology is only the first step. They also need practical learning experiences, mentorship, encouragement and opportunities to apply what they learn.
That is why HERIntelligence focuses on making technology education accessible, practical and relevant to the everyday experiences of young girls.
From introducing students to Artificial Intelligence and prompt engineering to exploring the Internet of Things (IoT), digital creativity and responsible technology use, the organisation wants girls to move beyond simply using technology to understanding what they can create with it.
Why Their Work Matters
Across many underserved communities, access to digital education remains uneven.
Some schools have limited access to computers and internet facilities. Some teachers have not received the training needed to introduce emerging technologies into their classrooms. Many girls have never had the opportunity to interact with AI tools, participate in technology workshops or meet women working in the technology sector.
These gaps can influence the opportunities available to them in the future.
HERIntelligence does not believe that a lack of access should be mistaken for a lack of ability.
A girl who has never used an AI tool can become an AI enthusiast. A student who has never written a line of code can develop an interest in programming. A young girl who has never imagined herself in technology can grow into an engineer, researcher, entrepreneur or technology leader.
Sometimes, all she needs is someone to introduce her to what is possible.
From Awareness to Action
HERIntelligence is built around a simple idea: girls should not only learn about the future; they should have the opportunity to help build it.
Through its AI education programmes, school engagements, webinars, mentorship activities and partnerships, the organisation is creating opportunities for girls to explore technology in practical and engaging ways.
Its recent Annual Summit 2026 (HAAS26), held in Jos, Plateau State, brought together over 150 participants, including 50 students, alongside educators, technology professionals, partners and other stakeholders.
Under the theme Her Future in AI: Equipping Girls for the Digital Economy, the summit provided an opportunity for students to engage with AI, explore practical applications of technology and learn from people working in the field.
However, for HERIntelligence, the summit was never meant to be the end of the conversation.
One of the important steps following HAAS26 is the introduction of AI and technology clubs in government schools, beginning with schools represented at the summit. Through these clubs, the organisation hopes to create continuous learning opportunities where students can experiment, collaborate, develop ideas and build practical projects.
The team is particularly excited about creating more opportunities for hands-on learning, including IoT activities that allow students to connect what they learn with real-world applications.
Building Partnerships for Greater Impact
HERIntelligence recognises that expanding access to digital education requires more than passion. It requires partnerships, resources, expertise and a shared commitment to reaching communities that are often left out of conversations about emerging technologies.
Teachers, schools, parents, technology professionals, development organisations, government institutions and private-sector partners all have a role to play.
The organisation welcomes individuals and organisations who share its vision to work together in reaching more girls, supporting teachers, providing learning resources and creating pathways for young women to participate meaningfully in the digital economy.
Every partnership can help take an opportunity to a girl who might otherwise never have had access to it.
The Future They Are Working Towards
HERIntelligence aims to reach 10,000 girls by 2030, particularly those in communities where access to technology education and digital opportunities remains limited.
It is an ambitious goal, but the team believes it is achievable through consistent work, meaningful partnerships and a commitment to ensuring that no girl is left behind.
They want to see girls in government schools confidently using AI tools, building digital projects, asking questions, solving problems and developing ideas that respond to challenges in their communities.
They want teachers to feel equipped to guide their students through an increasingly digital world.
Most importantly, they want girls to understand that they do not have to wait for someone else to shape the future of technology. They can be part of shaping it themselves.
At HERIntelligence, the team is not simply preparing girls to live in a world shaped by technology. They are preparing them to participate in shaping that world.
And they are determined to take that opportunity to every community they can reach, one school, one girl and one learning experience at a time.
The future should not be a privilege reserved for a few. It should be an opportunity available to every girl.
Join HERIntelligence in taking AI and digital education beyond the cities and into the communities where the next generation of innovators is waiting for an opportunity.
